Shehbaz condemns disrespectful behavior towards Sobia Shahid in KP Assembly

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) President and Prime Ministerial candidate Shehbaz Sharif has said that members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly intimidated, threatened, and insulted lawmaker Sobia Shahid, which amounts to disrespecting Pashtun culture and traditions.

Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Sobia Shahid met Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad and paid tribute to him for the bravery of Sobia.

Shehbaz Sharif condemned the disrespectful behavior towards Sobia Shahid in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and stated that action should be taken against those who act against the dignity and respect of women. It is the responsibility of the Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to apprehend those who engage in disrespectful conduct.

In this regard, Shahbaz Sharif said that PTI members are ignorant of the words of honor, respect and civility.

The prime minister-designate said that we will empower women, we are confident of protecting women's rights.

Earlier, the nomination papers of Shehbaz Sharif and Umar Ayub for the Leader of the House have been approved in the National Assembly.

The nomination papers of Shehbaz Sharif, the candidate of the coalition parties for the Prime Ministership, were submitted to the Secretary of the National Assembly, which was received by the Secretary General of the National Assembly, Tahir Hussain.

In comparison to Shehbaz Sharif, Sunni Ittehad Council candidate Umar Ayub also submitted papers.

According to the National Assembly Secretariat, 8 nomination papers were submitted for Shehbaz Sharif and 4 for Umar Ayub, which were approved after scrutiny.
