The polling for the National Assembly Constituency NA-148 in Multan has concluded.
The polling began 08:00 AM in the morning and had concluded at 05:00 PM without any breaks.
Out of all the candidates participating, there ais a tough competition between Pakistan People’s Party’s Ali Qasim Gilani, Sunni Ittehad Council’s Taimur Altaf and Ahmed Hussain Dehr.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), there were 4 lakh 44 thousand 231 total voters in the NA-148, which included 2 lakh 33 thousand 624 are male voters while 2 lakh 10 thousand 607 were female voters.
As per reports, there were 275 polling stations set up across the constituency, of which 72 had been allocated for men and women while the remaining for both.
According to ECP, 69 polling stations were labelled as sensitive and 3,800 police personnel performed their duties at these stations.
It is pertinent to mention that Yusuf Raza Gilani emerged victorious in the said constituency. However, the seat became vacant after the he became a senator.
