The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a key weather forecast for Islamabad, predicting partly cloudy skies with chances of hailstorm, thunderstorms, and rain in surrounding areas.
The weather in Islamabad is expected to hit a high of 34°C today, according to the Met Office. Rain is likely in the upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Some districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may also see heavy rainfall and hail.
Meanwhile, Sindh and Balochistan will continue to experience hot and dry weather, along with strong winds.
Islamabad and Quetta were at 18°C, Lahore and Karachi at 27°C, Peshawar at 20°C, Gilgit at 13°C, Murree at 9°C, and Muzaffarabad at 16°C.
In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the weather forecast predicts cloudy skies with chances of rain, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula. Jammu is expected to have partly cloudy weather with similar chances of rain and storms.
Earlier in the week, Islamabad and nearby areas faced unexpected heavy rain and hailstorms, which caused widespread problems. Large hailstones damaged cars, solar panels, and other property.
Meanwhile, heavy rains in Landi Kotal, Torkham, and adjoining areas resulted in flash flooding, leaving freight vehicles stranded and forcing the temporary closure of the Pak-Afghan highway due to strong winds and water accumulation.
