ISLAMABAD: Petrol and other fuel prices in Pakistan are likely to go up from October 1, 2025, as part of the government’s regular price adjustment, according to a source reported on Monday.
According to sources, petrol may become costlier by Rs1.97 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel could rise by Rs2.48 per litre. Similarly, light diesel is expected to go up by Rs1.76 per litre, and kerosene oil may see the highest jump of Rs4.64 per litre.
Officials said initial calculations for the new rates have already been completed. A summary of the proposed changes will be sent to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for approval.
The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will forward the summary to the Petroleum Division, which will work with the Finance Ministry to finalize the prices. Once the Prime Minister gives the go-ahead, the new rates will be announced and enforced from October 1, 2025.
