Islamabad Capital City Police Officer Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has inaugurated Pakistan’s first-ever women’s driving school and test center at the Police Lines Headquarters in sector H-11.
The event saw the presence of key figures, including the Country Director of the Islamic Relief Organization, CPO Safe City/Traffic DIG Shohaib Khurram Janbaz, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad SSP Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, women undergoing training, and a substantial number of police officials from the Traffic Division in Islamabad.
As per an Islamabad police representative, the driving school stands as a collaborative effort between the capital police and the Islamic Relief Organization. The objective is to provide women with specialized training under the mentorship of seasoned instructors.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan highlighted the crucial role women play in society. He further said that women are the key contributors to the progress of any community.
He highlighted the significance of endeavors like setting up women's driving schools to empower and endorse them in various areas.
Khan restated the Islamabad Capital Police's dedication to taking more steps to nurture women's talents in the times ahead.
Instructions were given to officials to guarantee the provision of all essential facilities at the driving school and test center. He assured that the driving test center is committed to upholding global standards.
This ensures that those who pass the test meet the criteria for obtaining their driving licenses.
