The Islamabad High Court (IHC) demonstrated remarkable judicial productivity in 2025, successfully resolving a total of 15,805 cases, as detailed in its annual performance report. The court’s efforts reflect a strong commitment to efficient case disposal and judicial accountability.
Single benches played a pivotal role, handling and resolving 11,108 cases throughout the year. Meanwhile, larger benches and division benches disposed of an additional 4,697 cases. Justice Inam Amin Minhas led the court’s individual efforts, resolving 2,039 cases, followed by Justice Mohammad Azam Khan with 1,841 cases, and Justice Mohammad Asif, who cleared 1,338 cases.
Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar, in his capacity as the head of the court, personally resolved 1,223 cases and presided over hearings for an additional 13 cases as acting chief justice. Other judges, including Justice Arbab Mohammad Tahir and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani, also contributed significantly to managing the court’s caseload.
The report further highlights specific bench performances. Notably, a larger bench consisting of Chief Justice Dogar, Justice Arbab Mohammad Tahir, and Justice Azam Khan heard 32 cases, while a specialized bench focusing on tax issues, comprising Justices Babar Sattar and Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan, resolved 412 cases.
