ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday inaugurated the Charity Bazaar organized by the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA).
Ishaq Dar highlighted the crucial role of cultural diplomacy in strengthening international relations. Speaking at the Charity Bazaar, he emphasized that such events contribute to the welfare of marginalized communities.
He explained that the purpose of the charity bazaar is to support underprivileged groups, offering them an opportunity to benefit from cultural engagement. He noted that the event allows people to experience different cultures, each of which carries its own unique identity.
The Deputy Prime Minister further stated that the PFOWA Charity Bazaar plays a significant role in bringing different cultures closer together. He also praised the inclusion of exhibitions and cultural shows as part of the bazaar.
Dar mentioned that hosting such events is a form of diplomacy, and cultural diplomacy is essential for improving international relations. He expressed gratitude to the diplomats for their support of the Charity Bazaar and encouraged the organizers to continue holding such events twice a year.
The event not only contributes to charitable causes but also fosters mutual understanding and cooperation between different cultures, further strengthening Pakistan's international relationships.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar said that implicating Saudi Arabia for petty political point scoring was regrettable and indicative of a desperate mindset.
The deputy prime minister, in a statement on the comments by the spouse of PTI founder Imran Khan regarding Saudi Arabia, also urged all political forces to desist from compromising Pakistan’s foreign policy in pursuance of their political objectives.
“Implicating Saudi Arabia for petty political point scoring is regrettable and indicative of a desperate mindset. We urge all political forces to desist from compromising Pakistan’s foreign policy in pursuance of their political objectives,” he said.
Calling Pakistan and Saudi Arabia “close friends and brothers” he said the Pak-Saudi bilateral relationship was based on mutual respect.
