How to Apply for the Punjab Kisan Card

The Punjab government has initiated Kisan Card registration, offering growers production loans totalling 300 billion rupees annually.

Through this program, each farmer can apply for an easy loan of up to Rs 150,000 per crop. The loan can be used to purchase fertilizer, seeds, and other agricultural inputs using the Kisan Card.

To register for the Kisan Card, interested farmers should send their ID card numbers to 8070 with the message 'PKC Space' from their mobile phones. Over 500,000 farmers are expected to benefit from the Kisan Card.

Eligibility for registration requires owning up to 12.5 acres of land. The land must be registered at the land record center, and the farmer's mobile SIM must be registered to their ID card number.

The government will verify the farmer's ID card through NADRA records, ensuring the farmer is not in default with any financial institution.

The interest-free loan is repayable in six months, after which the farmer can apply for another loan for the next crop.

How to Apply for the Kisan Card Online

1. Create a mobile wallet or account.
2. Purchase the Kisan Token Bundle.
3. Fill out the application form at the Tehsil Office.
4. Submit the required documents.
5. Pick up your Kisan Card from the Tehsil Office once notified.

This initiative aims to support farmers by providing easy access to essential agricultural resources and financial aid, thereby boosting productivity and growth in the agricultural sector.
