Mainly hot and dry weather is predicted across most parts of the country on Wednesday, while very hot conditions are likely in the plain areas, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The Met Office has also predicted rain, wind, and thunderstorms at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and nearby hilly regions during the afternoon.
In Islamabad and surrounding areas, hot and dry weather with partly cloudy skies is expected. Most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also remain hot and dry, although Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Parachinar may receive isolated rain and thunderstorms.
Punjab is expected to stay mainly hot and dry as well, but some areas including Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, and nearby regions may experience rain-wind and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Sindh will continue to face hot and dry weather, with very hot conditions in upper and central districts, along with dust-raising winds in coastal areas. Balochistan is also expected to remain hot and dry, with very hot weather in central regions and dusty winds along the coast.
In Kashmir, partly cloudy weather with chances of isolated rain and thunderstorms is likely, while Gilgit-Baltistan will remain partly cloudy to dry.
Over the past 24 hours, most parts of the country experienced hot and dry conditions, with isolated rain in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southern Punjab. Recorded rainfall included 8 mm in Parachinar, 1 mm in Upper Dir, and 4 mm at Multan Airport.
The highest temperature on Tuesday was 45°C in Sibbi, followed by 44°C in Dalbandin, Dadu, and Shaheed Benazirabad, the PMD added.
