The weather in most parts of Pakistan is expected to stay hot and dry over the next few days, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The hot conditions are mainly because of dry continental winds blowing across the country.
While most areas will stay dry, some places like Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa might see light rain, wind, or thunderstorms on Tuesday.
Similar weather is expected on Wednesday, with temperatures likely to rise further, especially in southern regions like Sindh and southern Punjab. The PMD said the afternoons in these areas could become extremely hot, especially in Sindh.
Over the past 24 hours, most regions experienced hot and dry weather. However, some parts of upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan received scattered rain. For example, Kalam got 6 mm of rain, Pattan 4 mm, Chilas 5 mm, and Gupis 3 mm. Skardu, Bunji, and Bagrote had 2 mm each.

The hottest place in the country on Monday was Dadu, where the temperature reached 47°C. Other cities like Khairpur, Mohenjo-Daro, and Larkana recorded 45°C.
The PMD says this hot and dry weather pattern is expected to continue until at least Thursday, with no major changes in temperature. People are advised to drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun during peak heat hours, and take precautions, especially in areas with very high temperatures.
