During a security forces operation in Khyber District, four terrorists were killed, while Sepoy Sohail Afridi was martyred.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, security forces thwarted an infiltration attempt by the Kharijites (a terrorist group) along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. On the night of December 19 and 20, security forces detected the movement of the Kharijite group near the border.
The ISPR stated that the infiltration attempt in the Rajgal area of Khyber District was successfully foiled by the security forces, resulting in the death of four foreign terrorists.
In the exchange of fire with the infiltrating terrorists, the brave son of the soil, Sepoy Amir Sohail Afridi, embraced martyrdom. The 22-year-old Sepoy Sohail Afridi hailed from Khyber District.
According to ISPR, Sepoy Amir Sohail Afridi embraced martyrdom while fighting fiercely against the terrorists. Pakistan has consistently called for effective border management from the interim Afghan government.
Earlier, security forces killed 11 terrorists during three separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said the military’s media wing.According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation, based on intelligence reports, was carried out in Tank District targeting the presence of Khwarij. “During the operation, troops effectively engaged the Khwarij, neutralizing seven,” the statement said.
The second operation took place in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan District, where two Khwarij were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces.
In a third encounter in Mamad Gat, Mohmand District, security forces engaged in an intense firefight, resulting in the elimination of two more Khwarij, the ISPR confirmed.
“Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as innocent civilians,” the statement added.
