The Punjab government had announced the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025 a few months ago, offering free laptops to outstanding students. Now, students are eagerly waiting for the distribution of these latest devices.
Under this initiative, the government plans to distribute 50,000 laptops to deserving students. Additionally, the Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz stated that 2,000 laptops will be allocated to minority students. The program is also open to students who have completed matriculation and intermediate levels.
Students in the province will get 13th generation laptops and Core i7 computers as part of the Chief Minister’s Laptop Program. To encourage research and learning, two thousand minority students and those who placed in the Secondary and Higher Secondary School Examinations will also receive free computers.
A total of 20,000 university students, 14,000 college students, 4,000 students from technical and agricultural colleges, and 2,000 medical and dental college students will receive laptops. Students from South Punjab will represent 32% of the recipients.
The laptops will be distributed to students pursuing degrees in fields such as computer science, medicine, science, engineering, social sciences, business, language, veterinary medicine, and agriculture.
The CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025 does not have an online application platform. The data of the eligible students will be gathered by the educational institutions.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Punjab, which is anticipated to release lists of chosen students for the program, will thereafter get the validated data.
Reports suggest that the laptop distribution under the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025 is expected to start after Ramadan 2025, with registration beginning in February 2025. The distribution is expected to take place in April or May 2025.
Earlier this month, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced that the first shipment of laptops had already arrived in Pakistan.
The chief minister will also hold ceremonies in various locations to distribute the laptops as part of the Honhaar Scholarship Program.
