A recent survey conducted across Punjab’s 36 districts revealed that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has gained significant public approval over the past year, with a majority of respondents viewing her governance favorably.
The survey, carried out by the Institute of Public Opinion Research between February 3 and 18, gathered feedback from both urban and rural populations regarding the Punjab government’s performance.
According to the findings, most respondents rated CM Maryam Nawaz’s governance as outstanding, particularly in terms of public service and addressing key issues.
In the education and healthcare sectors, 73% of citizens approved of her initiatives, with 68% rating her overall performance in these areas as very good.
However, the survey also pointed out concerns regarding job creation, as 63% of respondents rated the government's performance in this area as poor. Despite this, 57% believed that governance quality had improved over the past year.
When asked about governance effectiveness, 57% of respondents felt that key public issues were addressed efficiently, while 60% believed that Maryam Nawaz outperformed the chief ministers of the other three provinces.
Meanwhile, 17% of respondents felt that government performance had deteriorated.
Compared to the previous PTI-led government, 53% of those surveyed stated that public service and governance standards had improved under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership. Advancements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and the Clean Punjab initiative were cited as her most notable achievements.
The survey also assessed sector-wise improvements, with respondents highlighting progress in education (15%), healthcare (14%), roads and infrastructure development (11%), and cleanliness (11%). Additionally, 13% of respondents urged immediate action on employment and healthcare, while 12% emphasized the need for stronger measures to control inflation.
