US strike leaves craters at Iran’s Fordow site, says IAEA Chief

VIENNA:  Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has stated that large craters were observed at Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility following a recent U.S. strike.

According to foreign media reports, Grossi confirmed that the entrances to underground tunnels at the Isfahan nuclear complex were also targeted during the attack. These tunnels were reportedly used for storing enriched nuclear material.

Rafael Grossi has confirmed that the recent U.S. strikes in Iran targeted key nuclear facilities, including the Natanz fuel enrichment plant, which was struck again.

Grossi stated that large craters were observed at the Fordow nuclear site following the attacks, indicating significant surface-level damage.

Earlier, Iranian officials had claimed that there was no rise in off-site radiation levels at any of the three targeted locations. They maintained that only the outer sections of the nuclear facilities sustained damage during the strikes.

According to the Iranian official, the three nuclear installations were evacuated before the US invasion, the targeted sites had no materials that became radiation.

Earlier, Iran will give strong and appropriate response of any U.S. attack, Iranian Ambassador Saeed Iravani                                                                             During an emergency meeting of the Security Council, Iran’s Ambassador Saeed Iravani made it clear that Iran would respond decisively and appropriately to any U.S. attack.

He stated that Iranian military forces will determine the timing and nature of any response.

Iravani urged the United States to cease baseless accusations, which he described as politically motivated and lacking legal justification.
