‘UAE Blue Residency’
The new visa program was authorized during a federal cabinet meeting led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who serves as the UAE’s Vice President, Prime Minister, and Dubai's Ruler.[embedpost slug="/dubai-prepares-for-summer-vacation-2024-amidst-rising-temperatures/"]
The cabinet also approved a new classification system for higher education institutions in the country. This system takes into account factors such as educational excellence, research capabilities, and the employability of graduates.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized that these measures are in line with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s vision for 2024 as the Year of Sustainability. The Blue Residency visa will be granted to those who demonstrate excellence in advancing sustainability, modern technologies, the circular economy, and related areas.
