Nevertheless, the parade kicked off a bit later than scheduled due to the team’s delayed flight and the lively scenes at the airport. Despite these minor hitches, the celebration was an overwhelming success.
Marine Drive was overflowing with supporters, contributing to the vibrant mood as the Indian team’s bus inched its way toward the Wankhede Stadium.
Following the procession, an elaborate accolade ceremony was held at Wankhede Stadium, where the crowd joined in the festivities with the team.
It’s worth recalling that earlier in the day, upon their arrival at Delhi airport from the Caribbean, the team was greeted with enthusiastic cheers of “India, India,” after their return was postponed by Hurricane Beryl.
Subsequently, the team had the honor of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Adorned in jerseys bearing the title “Champions,” Rohit and his squad were featured on television as they convened with the nation’s leader.
Modi captured a moment with the team in a photograph before taking the time to converse with the players.
