Madinah: Prominent Pakistani-born religious scholar and Quran teacher, Qari Bashir Ahmad Siddiq, who devoted 44 years to teaching the Holy Quran at Masjid al-Nabawi ﷺ, has passed away. His death was officially confirmed by a spokesperson for Jamia Ashrafia Lahore.
Qari Bashir Ahmad's funeral prayer was held at Masjid al-Nabawi ﷺ, and he was laid to rest in the sacred grounds of Jannat ul-Baqi. His passing has been widely mourned by Islamic scholars and students across the Muslim world.
“Qari Bashir Ahmad Siddiq had been serving as a Quran teacher at Masjid al-Nabawi ﷺ for the past 44 years. His death is a tremendous loss for the Muslim Ummah,” said the spokesperson of Jamia Ashrafia.
Throughout his life, Qari Bashir Ahmad remained devoted to the service of the Quran both in teaching and recitation. His legacy as a teacher at one of Islam’s holiest sites leaves a lasting impact, and his contributions will be remembered by generations of students and followers of the Quran.
