In a detailed statement posted on X, the prime minister confirmed that the memorandum was formally signed by the leadership of both countries, noting that Pakistan played a constructive mediatory role in facilitating dialogue and supporting the process toward agreement.
Shehbaz Sharif strongly commended US President Donald Trump, praising what he termed his “decisive leadership and firm commitment to diplomacy,” which, according to him, helped steer the situation away from escalation and toward a negotiated settlement.

He also acknowledged the efforts of the US negotiating team, including J.D. Vance, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, calling their role “critical in achieving this diplomatic outcome.”

Turning to the Iranian leadership, the prime minister expressed deep respect for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian, crediting their “statesmanship, foresight and willingness to pursue dialogue” in the interest of regional peace.
He also praised Iran’s negotiating team, including Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Abbas Araghchi and Eskandar Momeni, for their consistent engagement and constructive approach throughout the process.
Shehbaz Sharif further highlighted the role of regional partners, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Egypt, stating that their diplomatic engagement proved “highly constructive” in creating momentum for the agreement and bridging differences between the two sides.
He also gave special recognition to Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, stating that his “strategic support, tireless efforts and key involvement” played an important role in advancing diplomatic coordination and strengthening efforts toward regional stability.
The prime minister expressed confidence that the agreement would lay a strong and durable foundation for enhanced mutual understanding, long-term cooperation and sustainable peace across the region, while also contributing to broader regional stability and shared prosperity.
