RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that India failed to shoot down a single Pakistani aircraft during the war, while seven Indian aircraft were destroyed.
In an interview with Bloomberg, the DG ISPR said Pakistan’s strategy focused on effective planning, capable platforms, and the integration of indigenous technology. He added that Pakistan remains open to acquiring technology from domestic, Eastern, or Western sources.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif clarified that Pakistan is not engaged in an arms race with India and has never attempted to manipulate or conceal facts and figures.
He noted that Pakistan’s defence budget is significantly smaller than India’s, and the country does not possess unlimited resources.
He further stated that India could not down any Pakistani aircraft during the conflict, while seven Indian jets were destroyed — a figure also mentioned by the U.S. President in his speech last week.
The interview also acknowledged the effective performance of Chinese platforms integrated into Pakistan’s weapon systems and armed forces during the conflict.
