The Meteorological Department has brought welcome news for Pakistan, with upcoming weather changes set to alleviate the ongoing scorching heatwave. Beginning on June 18, a shift in weather patterns is expected as moist winds from the Arabian Sea are poised to sweep through the upper and central regions, heralding cooler temperatures and much-needed rain.

Gilgit, Baltistan, and Kashmir are in line to receive rain, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms, from June 18 to June 22. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will see continued intense heat and dry conditions from June 16 to June 18, followed by potential dust storms and thunderstorms, with rainfall forecasted for Chitral and Abbottabad from June 18 to June 22.

Balochistan is bracing for extreme heat and dryness from June 16 to June 18, with the possibility of dust storms. However, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, and Galyat may experience sporadic rain and dust storms from June 18 to June 22, offering some respite.

In Bahawalpur, Multan, and Khanewal, the weather is expected to turn with dust storms, gusty winds, and thunderstorms accompanied by rain anticipated from June 20 to June 22. Meanwhile, Sindh will endure scorching temperatures from June 17 to June 20, followed by a potential heavy rainfall spell in Sukkur and Jacobabad from June 21 to June 22.

From June 19 to June 22, a decrease in the prevailing heatwave is anticipated across various regions. The Meteorological Department has issued alerts to all relevant departments, urging vigilance during this period to ensure public safety.
