Rawalpindi: In a special message on Independence Day, Field Marshal Asim Munir extended heartfelt congratulations to all the nation.
He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the country’s forefathers and the Muslims of the subcontinent who laid the foundation for Pakistan.
Asim Munir emphasized that Pakistan stands as a strong and invincible fortress of the Muslim world, embodying interfaith harmony and religious freedom. He highlighted the significant role played by religious minorities in the country’s progress.
Addressing the ongoing fight against terrorism, he stated that Pakistan has paid a heavy price in terms of lives and resources to defeat the menace. Regarding the tragic Pahalgam incident, he said Pakistan not only condemned the attack but also offered transparent international investigations.
The Field Marshal praised Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos as a symbol of the bravery and spirited dedication of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He noted that the Indian government’s traditional stubbornness led to attacks on Pakistani civilian areas, which were met with a firm response through this operation, backed by the nation’s full support.
He assured that the Pakistan Army is fully prepared to counter conventional, unconventional, and hybrid threats. Expressing hopes for peace, progress, and prosperity in the region, he reiterated the country’s unwavering stance on its freedom and sovereignty.
Asim Munir warned that any attempt to harm Pakistan’s sovereignty and integrity would be met with an immediate and decisive response. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for the oppressed people of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, calling for the realization of their right to self-determination as the only just and lasting solution.
He also expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine and urged the international community to take immediate measures to protect Palestinian rights.
