Light downpour in Karachi, humid weather expected to continue

Karachi: Light rain and drizzle were reported early this morning in various parts of the city. The rain was caused by moist winds and sea clouds coming from the Arabian Sea, according to Meteorological Department

The Met Office has forecast that the weather will remain partly cloudy and humid over the next 24 hours. Intermittent light rain or drizzle is also expected in some areas of the city.

The minimum temperature recorded in Karachi was 26°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to range between 30°C and 32°C.

Currently, the humidity level in the air is at 92%, and sea breezes are blowing at a speed of 11 km/h.

On the other side, the  Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast intermittent rainfall in the upper parts of the country starting today and continuing until September 19.

According to the PMD, heavy rainfall is expected at a few places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and Punjab.

Most areas of Sindh are likely to remain dry; however, partly cloudy conditions are expected in coastal regions. Similarly, partly cloudy weather is also expected in most areas of Balochistan.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to the risk of Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) in vulnerable areas.
