The Meteorological Department expects the city's temperature to climb to a high of 40 degrees Celsius today. Early morning humidity was recorded at a significant 60 percent, making the heat feel even more oppressive throughout the day.
The minimum temperature recorded was 30 degrees Celsius. Forecasters from the department indicate that the sky will remain completely clear, with no chance of rain in the immediate outlook.
Sea winds are currently blowing at a speed of 20 to 25 kilometers per hour.
This period of intense heat is set to continue, with the Meteorological Department predicting that the high temperatures will last until June 3. Citizens should prepare to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha under extremely hot conditions.
Looking ahead, the Met department does have some positive news for Karachi. They're expecting the pre-monsoon season to start after June 15. This period should bring a noticeable break from the current heat, with the mornings and evenings seeing more clouds, offering some much-needed relief.
