Tehran/Tel Aviv: Iran has launched a fresh wave of missile attacks on Israel, marking the fourth such strike in recent days.
The latest barrage, carried out early Saturday morning, reportedly included a direct hit in central Tel Aviv.
Iranian General Ahmad Vahidi stated in an interview with Iranian media that missiles launched by Iran during Operation True Promise 3 directly struck a nuclear research center in southern Tel Aviv.
According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the retaliatory operation targeted key Israeli military and intelligence installations in response to what Tehran described as ongoing Israeli aggression.
Iranian commanders claim that at least 150 Israeli targets were hit during the large-scale missile barrage. Strategic locations in Tel Aviv, Ashdod, Haifa, and Beersheba were reportedly struck during the second wave of attacks.
The multiple missiles were fired, some of which were intercepted mid-air by Israel’s missile defense systems. However, Iran claims that one of the missiles successfully struck an Israeli nuclear research facility, though Israeli officials have not yet confirmed this.
On the other hand, Israeli media has reported that missiles fired from Iran have landed in Tel Aviv, intensifying an already volatile situation in the region.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that air defense systems have been fully activated to intercept incoming threats. Authorities have advised civilians to move to shelters and secure locations as a precautionary measure.
This comes after Iran launched over 200 missiles in a large-scale retaliatory strike earlier, marking a significant escalation in hostilities between the two nations.
