Dubai: Pakistan and India set to take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium today in Asia Cup final, Dubai Police have finalized comprehensive security preparations and issued strict guidelines to ensure the safety of all spectators.
In an advisory released in Urdu to assist the large number of South Asian cricket fans, authorities have urged spectators to arrive at least three hours before the match begins. Fans have been reminded that each ticket allows only a single entry, and re-entry will not be permitted once a spectator leaves the stadium.
To maintain a secure environment, Dubai Police have banned several items from the stadium premises, including flammable materials, weapons, laser pointers, fireworks, tripods, selfie sticks, and glass objects. Additionally, any political banners or unauthorized placards will not be allowed, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful and festive atmosphere during the historic event.
The excitement surrounding this final has reached new heights, with all 28,000 tickets for the match sold out. This marks the highest attendance for any match in the tournament so far, surpassing previous encounters that drew crowds of 20,000 and 17,000 respectively.
This Asia Cup final is historic as it is the first time Pakistan and India, arch-rivals in cricket, face off in the tournament's history. Pakistan secured their spot in the final after a thrilling 11-run victory over Bangladesh in the Super Fours stage on September 25.
Despite two earlier defeats to India in the group stage and Super Fours, Pakistan remains a formidable contender, having beaten all other teams on their way to the final. India, featuring the world’s top-ranked T20 batter Abhishek Sharma and bowler Varun Chakravarthy, will be looking to add another title to their trophy cabinet, having last won the Asia Cup in 2016.
Dubai Police have appealed to fans to cooperate fully with the security measures, ensuring the final is conducted smoothly, safely, and in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
