KARACHI: At least 15 people were injured in celebratory firing as soon as moon for the Eid ul Fitr was sighted .
According to officials, the aerial firing took place in Baldia Town, Orangi Town, Landhi, Korangi Industrial Area, Manghopir, Nazimabad and other areas.
Rescue officials said the injured included women and children, while the injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Civil Hospital Karachi and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
On the other hand, police officials say a crackdown on aerial firing was launched out across the city and more than 11 suspects were arrested in the meantime.
Two suspects from the SITE area, two suspects from Saeedabad, while one of the accused was arrested from Ittehad Town, Manghopir, North Nazimabad, Shahrah e Noor Jahan, Mochko and Rizvia Society.
Police officials added that weapons were also recovered from the possession of the accused while further investigation was launched by registering cases against the accused.
