Renowned Pakistani fashion designer Maria B has responded strongly to the protest organized by Aurat March Lahore, where she was targeted by the participants.
The protest, which took place on February 12 in Lahore, followed Pakistan’s National Women’s Day, and saw demonstrators holding placards against Maria B and former actress Mishi Khan.
The rally, which started at the Press Club and ended at Faletti's Hotel, aimed to raise awareness on various women’s issues, but Maria B did not hesitate to address the controversy surrounding the event.
In her response, she referred to the protest as the "Qaum e Lout March" and the "Unsuccessful Women’s March." She stated, “We have already rejected the Aurat March, Qaum e Lout March, and Unsuccessful Women March, what else can I say about it?" Maria also responded to the criticism she and Mishi Khan faced, saying, "I have seen all your placards against me and Mishi Khan. We can only question your upbringing through such acts.”

According to her, the public of Pakistan had rejected the march and its agenda, and she emphasized that Pakistani women wanted to live according to Islamic teachings while striving for success and independence for their families.
She continued, "We know Pakistani women want to live their life according to Islamic teachings, they want to be independent and successful for their family. They want to become their family’s strength." She criticized the protesters, claiming they were funded to promote an agenda and had failed to represent the true aspirations of Pakistani women.
After her video message, Maria B received widespread public support for her remarks, with Mishi Khan also thanking her for the strong response.
