  • He emphasized the damaging effects of baseless speculation.
  • He highlighted his commitment to keeping family matters private.
Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has addressed the spread of speculation and unverified information in a cryptic blog post, amid rumours about his son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai’s marriage facing difficulties.

Without directly referring to the rumours, the 82-year-old star emphasized the damaging effects of baseless speculation. “Speculations are speculations, they are speculated untruths, without verifications,” Bachchan wrote. He criticized the tendency to circulate unverified claims, saying, “Fill the World with untruth or questioned untruth and your job is over… how it may have affected the subject individual or situation has been hand washed away from your hands… your conscience, if ever you have one, has been overridden.”

Bachchan highlighted his commitment to keeping family matters private. “It takes immense courage, conviction and a sincerity to be different and believe in its presence in life… I rarely say much about family, because that is my domain and its privacy is maintained by me,” he stated.

The actor’s comments arrive amidst speculations about Abhishek and Aishwarya’s relationship, which began in 2006 and led to their marriage in 2007. The couple shares a 13-year-old daughter, Aaradhya. While rumours swirl, Bachchan’s words serve as a reminder of the ethical responsibility in sharing information.
