In a major step towards sustainable mobility, foodpanda, Pakistan’s leading food and grocery delivery platform, has introduced Electric Bikes as part of its delivery fleet. This initiative, launched in collaboration with the Government of Punjab and Wasl (a non-banking finance company), aims to reduce carbon emissions and promote eco-friendly delivery solutions.
The launch event in Lahore was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control, Shehryar Malik, and Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee, Ahmad Iqbal Chaudhary. Both officials distributed EV bikes among foodpanda riders to officially mark the beginning of the program in Punjab.
This initiative aligns with Pakistan’s green transportation goals, enhancing EV adoption in foodpanda’s fleet while reducing reliance on gasoline-powered vehicles. The move is expected to lower emissions, support environmental sustainability, and offer cost efficiency to riders.
Welcoming the initiative, Shehryar Malik stated,"This launch represents a significant step forward in our journey towards a sustainable future. By embracing innovation and adopting electric vehicles, foodpanda is setting a new standard for the delivery industry in Pakistan. The Punjab Government is committed to supporting such initiatives and encouraging a culture of environmental responsibility."
Ahmad Iqbal Chaudhary added, "The transition towards electric mobility is vital for sustainable urban development. This initiative by foodpanda is a step in the right direction, proving how public-private partnerships can create a meaningful environmental impact while boosting economic opportunities."

Through Wasl Investment Finance, an SECP-regulated NBFC, foodpanda’s delivery riders can access financing for EVs. This initiative is set to revolutionize last-mile logistics in Pakistan, with foodpanda committed to expanding the program for a greener future.
