English teacher jobs in Japan for Pakistanis; details inside

The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, is preparing to send qualified teachers to teach English in Japanese public schools. This initiative is in response to Japan’s urgent need for assistant English teachers, as reported by the private website “ProPakistani.”

Requirements and Qualifications

Government sources have revealed that Japan is seeking 30 assistant English teachers. The essential criteria for candidates include:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience: At least one year of teaching experience.
• Age: Between 24 to 45 years.
• Gender: No restrictions.

Those selected will be offered a salary of up to 220,000 yen (approximately four lakh Pakistani rupees) and free transportation. The job will be contract-based with a one-year agreement from April 7, 2025, to March 24, 2026.

How to Apply: Step-by-Step Guide

1. Eligibility Check: Ensure you meet the educational, experience, and age requirements.
2. Prepare Documents:
   • No criminal record.
   • Recent medical certificate indicating fitness to work.
   • Financial stability documentation.
3. Self-Introduction Video: Create a three-minute video introducing yourself.
4. Submit Application: Apply through the OEC website.
5. Bank Challan: Generate and submit a bank challan of one thousand rupees during the online application process.
6. Training: Be available for training sessions with M/s Borderlink in Pakistan.

Applicants need to prepare financially for their stay in Japan:

• Personal Accommodation: At least 600,000 yen (over 1 million Pakistani rupees) for accommodation flight expenses.
• Shared Accommodation: At least 300,000 yen (over 500,000 Pakistani rupees) for shared housing.
• Apartment Expenses: Personal accommodation costs range from 250,000 to 350,000 yen.

Preference will be given to candidates with basic Japanese language skills and relevant teaching certifications such as local teaching certificates, TESOL, TOEFL, and/or CELTA.
