Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has categorically dismissed circulating reports predicting a record-breaking or unusually severe cold spell between January 16 and 25, labeling such claims as misleading and unverified.
According to PMD, no extreme weather conditions or historic low temperatures are expected across the country during this period. Meteorological models indicate that temperature patterns will stay within typical seasonal norms, with no significant deviations forecasted.
The department emphasized that no official warning of extraordinary cold has been issued, cautioning the public against relying on rumors or social media speculations, which can spread unnecessary alarm.
PMD has urged citizens to trust only official weather advisories, warnings, and updates issued through authorized channels. Authorities also warned against disseminating unconfirmed meteorological information, stressing the potential for public confusion.
Today's reported temperatures show a minimum of 9°C, while the maximum is expected to reach 24°C, confirming normal winter conditions nationwide. The PMD reassured the public that there is no threat of a severe or widespread cold wave in the coming days.
The department reiterated its commitment to delivering timely, accurate, and reliable weather updates, advising the public to monitor official channels exclusively for any future warnings or advisories.
