Sindh government has lifted a ban on the issuance of arms licences in the province with effect from August 1.
The provincial government has issued a notification in this regard, directing the deputy commissioners to restart the process for issuance of arms licenses from August 1, 2024.
“With the approval of Minister for Home, Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Criminal Prosecution, Sindh, ban on issuance of arms licenses at deputy commissioner offices in the province is hereby lifted with effect from August 01, 2024,” said the notification issued on Friday.
Last year, the caretaker government barred the power of deputy commissioners to issue licenses for firearms.
