The e-balloting for the Punjab Bikes Scheme 2024 was held last week, and the government has released the list of successful candidates.
The scheme saw a total of 72,640 applications from eligible students across Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. Of these, 57,370 applications were for petrol bikes, and 15,270 were for electric bikes.
Under the scheme, 19,000 petrol motorcycles and 1,000 electric bikes will be distributed to students selected through balloting.
The scheme includes a dedicated quota for female students. Specifically, out of the 19,000 petrol bikes, 11,676 are allocated for male students and 7,324 for female students. For the electric bikes, 700 are allocated for male students and 300 for female students.
Post-Balloting Process
After the completion of e-balloting, the financial scrutiny of the guarantor or co-borrower will be carried out by the Bank of Punjab (BOP).According to an official statement, “During this post-balloting scrutiny, BOP may ask for further documentation. Only those students whose post-balloting scrutiny by BOP is satisfactory shall be declared successful for the receipt of bikes. Necessary documentation shall be provided by the applicant students along with their online application for this purpose.”
Bike Delivery Process
Upon receipt of payment by the vendor or their dealership, the bike will be booked, or, if readily available, its chassis and engine numbers will be sent to BOP for insurance.Once insured, BOP will issue a delivery order to the dealership and hand it over to the student for bike collection.
Delivery Date
The Punjab government has yet to announce the official delivery date for the bikes. It is expected that the delivery process will start before the budget for the fiscal year 2024–25, following the completion of all procedures by the Bank of Punjab.[embedpost slug="/2024-prices-for-ups-and-solar-batteries-in-pakistan/"]
