Earlier this year, the Punjab government implemented a significant revision in driving license fees across the province after a gap of 20 years.
This update affects fees for all types of licenses, including learner licenses, motorcycle licenses, and others.
Learner License Fee from July 2024
From next month, July 2024, the provincial government will maintain the fee for issuance of learner driving licenses at Rs 500, unchanged from the previous rate.Motorcycle Driving License Fee in Punjab
Previously, the government charged Rs 550 for a motorcycle driving license valid for five years. However, under the new fee structure, citizens will now pay Rs500 annually for this license.Car, Jeep Driving License Fee Update
Before January 2024, the fee for a car or Jeep driving license was Rs 950 for a five-year period. Now, the government has increased this to Rs 1,800 per year, effective January 2024.These fee adjustments aim to streamline revenue generation and administration in the licensing process, ensuring sustainable funding for ongoing regulatory and infrastructure needs in the transport sector across Punjab.
