PESHAWAR: Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Finance Muzzammil Aslam has said that International Donor Conference organized by the provincial government has committed to provide 1.8 billion dollar for the development of the province.
Addressing a press conference, here on Friday along with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson Rauf Hassan, Aslam said that the Asian Development Bank would also cater one billion dollar, adding that all amount would be spent on the development of Chitral and tribal districts.
He added that the federal government provides Rs62 billion to the KP government after merger of FATA but this time, the province was given Rs66 billion, however the provincial government has spent Rs96 billion in tribal areas.
The advisor maintained that the KP generates the cheapest electricity, which is being sold at the rate of Rs27 per unit in the country by Wapda, adding that on other hand the central government has stopped providing small amount of funds to the province.
Aslam said that the province was not being rendered its share as per its population under NFC Award whereas the KP province was supplying more than half of the required gas to the rest of the provinces.
He asserted that the provincial government has organized an international donor conference just in its first 45 days, adding that the facility of health cards also being provided in the province. He further said that the KP is moving towards deficit free province.
The advisor observed that vehicles of the KP are registered in Islamabad, but when these vehicles enter Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the police deem them terrorists' property, adding that the provincial home secretary would resolve the issue.
