The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has decided to replace traditional paper-marking centers with an online system for checking exam papers in upcoming examinations.
The new system is intended to make the evaluation process faster, easier and more accurate.
BISE Lahore Chairman Professor Badr-ul-Islam said the on-screen marking system will be introduced for the second annual examinations. Under the new system, examiners will be able to check students’ answer sheets online from their homes instead of traveling to physical marking centers.
According to the chairman, the digital system will help reduce marking mistakes and save examiners’ travel time. It is also expected to make the handling of rechecking complaints more efficient.
Candidates will also be able to submit their admission forms online, making the examination process easier.
Professor Badr-ul-Islam said better monitoring helped improve Grade 9 results this year. He expressed hope that digital paper checking will further improve the quality, transparency and efficiency of examinations conducted by BISE Lahore.
The move is another step toward digitizing examination services and reducing the use of traditional paper-based processes in Punjab’s education system.
