RAWALPINDI: Imprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Tuesday removed Sher Afzal Marwat, a fiery Member of the National Assembly (MNA), from significant party positions.
Insider sources revealed that this decision came following recommendations from PTI's core committee.
Furthermore, Sher Afzal Marwat has been excluded from the list of focal persons authorized to attend meetings with the PTI founder at Adiala Jail.
The new designated representatives for these meetings are Umar Ayub, Barrister Ali Zafar, Shibli Faraz, and Barrister Gohar Ali Khan. The PTI leadership has duly informed the jail administration about these alterations.
In another development, the Grand Opposition Alliance, formed by the PTI along with other major opposition parties, has announced plans for an anti-government movement post Eid-ul-Fitr.
Sources indicate that this newly formed opposition alliance, which includes the Sunni Ittehad Council, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), Majlis-e-Wadhat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), and Balochistan National Party (BNP), is scheduled to hold its inaugural joint public gathering in Quetta on April 14.
Additionally, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has hinted at joining the opposition alliance, with its representative Liaquat Baloch stating that the party will make a final decision after the approval of the Majlis Shura.
