Hot and dry weather persisted in Lahore and most parts of Punjab on Monday, with experts forecasting similar conditions to continue on Tuesday and Wednesday. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air dominates most regions of Pakistan.
Consequently, Lahore and most districts of Punjab are expected to experience hot and dry weather over the next two days, with central and southern districts likely to face extremely hot conditions and gusty or dust-raising winds in the afternoon. Partly cloudy weather is anticipated in Murree and Galyat.
In Lahore, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 41-43°C on Tuesday and 43-45°C on Wednesday.
Over the past 24 hours, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of Punjab, with gusty or dust-raising winds observed in central and southern districts. Bhakar recorded the highest temperature in the province at 47°C, while Bahawalnagar, Gujranwala, and Noorpur Thal recorded maximum temperatures of 45°C.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature reached 42°C, with relative humidity recorded at 17% in the evening. Despite the heat, many people, including women and children, gathered to the Lahore canal to cool off. Some were seen taking baths in the canal's muddy waters to beat the heat.
