Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), said that Pakistan has the right to respond to India’s attack at a time and place of its choosing.
Speaking in the National Assembly, he condemned India's actions, calling them cowardly and brutal. He said only cowards strike under the cover of night and claimed that if India had the courage, it would have attacked during the day.
Bilawal criticized India for targeting innocent civilians, including children, and falsely labeling them as terrorists. He said this is not like 2001 or 2003 when such claims could go unchallenged. He added that for two weeks Pakistan endured baseless accusations, but now the truth is clear—Pakistan stands with truth while India stands with lies, despite what the UN resolutions say.
Bilawal also praised the Pakistan Air Force for its strong response, which included shooting down five Indian fighter jets. He warned that if India attacks again, more Indian planes will be taken down.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also addressed the National Assembly, speaking about the Indian missile and air strikes on Pakistani cities in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
He said the attack happened late at night and involved around 80 Indian fighter jets targeting six locations, including Bahawalpur, Shakargarh, Sialkot, and areas in AJK. However, Pakistan’s military responded quickly and shot down five Indian jets, including a Rafale, and successfully defended the country.
The Prime Minister praised the Pakistan Air Force and its chief for their strong and timely response. He mentioned that Pakistan already had intelligence about India’s plans and was prepared for the attack.
According to the military spokesperson, DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Pakistan also destroyed several Indian military posts and a brigade headquarters along the Line of Control. He confirmed that Indian missiles hit Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Ahmedpur Sharqia Bagh, and Muridke, but no Indian aircraft were able to enter Pakistani airspace.
The DG ISPR called India’s attack cowardly and warned that such actions would not go unpunished. He said Pakistan’s air defense systems were immediately activated to protect the country.
