Supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid have revealed a new family member: their 23-year-old half-sister, Eden Nix. The news came to light during an interview with the British newspaper, the Daily Mail.
The Hadid sisters shared how they recently connected with Eden, who is the daughter of their father, Mohamed Hadid, and Terry Hatfield Dill. Eden was born following a brief relationship between Mohamed Hadid and Terry Hatfield, which occurred after his divorce from Gigi and Bella's mother, Yolanda Hadid, in 2001.
This announcement has surprised many, as Eden's existence was not publicly known before. Gigi, 30, and Bella, 28, expressed their joy about finding and welcoming their sister, whom they first met in 2023.
The discovery happened after Eden decided to take a DNA test out of curiosity, following the unexpected death of the man she believed to be her father. Eden grew up in Florida unaware of her connection to the Hadid family, until her father passed away when she was 19.
The model sisters commented on the revelation, saying, "We have loved this unexpected and beautiful addition to our family." They noted that Eden has since spent time with them and their entire family including their father Mohamed Hadid.
A source close to the family described their relationship with Eden as friendly. They added, "Although his father was aware of Eden's existence, he played no role in his upbringing and had limited involvement in his life."
The Hadid sisters also asked for Eden's privacy. They stated "Eden and her family value their privacy and we fully respect that. We ask others to do the same and respect her wishes and her right to remain anonymous as she lives her life as a young woman in New York."
Eden prefers to stay out of the public eye. She is a graduate of Manhattan's prestigious Parsons School of Design and now lives in New York City. She aims to build a career in the fashion world as a designer, stylist, and influencer.
