The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, along with transport unions, has decided to lower fares for trips over 30 kilometers by Rs 10. This decision came after detailed discussions with transport union representatives.
To ensure that commuters benefit from this change, all public transport vehicles must display the updated fare charts on their front screens. This will help prevent overcharging and provide clarity.
The Deputy Commissioner has stressed that any vehicle not following the new fares will face serious consequences. Starting tomorrow, assistant commissioners will monitor the implementation of the new fares to ensure compliance.
