Available in denominations ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000,000, the certificates have a three-year tenure, offering profit payouts every six months.
Recent updates from January 26 have seen the National Savings Bank revise the profit rates, considering various factors.
The new policy stipulates a 16% per-year profit rate for the first five months, increasing to 16.6% for the sixth month. Investors can now earn Rs. 8,000 per Rs. 100,000 for each six months in the initial five months and Rs. 8,300 per Rs. 100,000 for the sixth month, enhancing the attractiveness of the Special Savings Certificates investment option.
