Alan Garber is a skilled physician and economist with extensive experience. He holds the prestigious Mallinckrodt Professor of Health Care Policy position at Harvard Medical School. Alan Garber was born in 1955 in Illinois, and he grew up in Rock Island. He graduated from a local school in 1973. He then attended Harvard College, where he earned his AB in economics in 1976. Alan continued his studies at Harvard, obtaining an AM and a PhD in economics. Concurrently, he also pursued studies at Stanford University and earned the prestigious title of MD in 1983.
