President Asif Ali Zardari met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty at Aiwan-e-Sadr, where the two leaders discussed bilateral relations, regional developments and enhanced economic cooperation.
During the meeting, the Egyptian foreign minister conveyed a special message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the President of Pakistan.
President Asif Ali Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening the 77-year-long historic and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Egypt. He emphasized the need for both countries to transform this longstanding diplomatic relationship into a broader economic partnership.
He highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, construction, agriculture, mining and information technology.

The President said that Pakistan desires peace, stability and economic growth in the region, and that closer cooperation with Egypt would greatly benefit the people of both nations.
He expressed confidence that Pakistan–Egypt relations will continue to grow stronger, with both countries working together on joint initiatives in the future.
The two sides also held an in-depth discussion on the overall regional situation, reviewing political and diplomatic challenges.
Later, President Zardari and the Egyptian Foreign Minister held a one-on-one meeting, agreeing to give a new dimension to bilateral relations.
