KARACHI: July 1, 2025 Atlas Honda Limited, Pakistan’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, has raised the prices of its motorcycles by Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 6,000 per unit, effective immediately.
The decision follows the federal government’s introduction of a 1% Carbon Levy on imported motorcycle engines as part of the 2025-26 federal budget.
The revised prices impact the entire product lineup and were confirmed by industry sources and local dealerships on Monday. The Chairman of the Association of Pakistan Motorcycle Assemblers (APMA), Muhammad Sabir Shaikh, stated that the levy has left manufacturers with little choice but to pass the cost on to consumers.

With Atlas Honda holding over 50% of the national market share, the price hike is expected to place additional pressure on consumers already struggling with rising inflation and shrinking purchasing power. Dealers anticipate a potential slowdown in sales, particularly in entry-level segments, which cater to price-sensitive buyers.
Economists suggest that while the carbon levy aims to encourage cleaner technologies and reduce emissions, its short-term effect on the two-wheeler market may be challenging for both manufacturers and consumers.
