ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani rupee gained strength against the US dollar on Friday, appreciating by 0.08 paisa in the interbank market and closing at Rs278.56, compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs278.64.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the US dollar in the open market stood at Rs278.35 and Rs279.85, respectively.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported that the Euro saw a significant decrease of Rs2.31, closing at Rs286.57 against its prior rate of Rs288.88.
The Japanese yen remained steady at Rs1.77, while the British pound experienced a notable drop of Rs3.33, trading at Rs345.55 compared to Rs348.88 on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the exchange rates for the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal also declined by 0.02 paisa each, closing at Rs75.84 and Rs74.17, respectively.
