Just hours before the start of matriculation examinations in Karachi on Tuesday, reports surfaced about the alleged leak of the Grade 9 computer science paper on social media platforms.
The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) is currently investigating the matter but is unable to confirm the authenticity of the leaked paper. This uncertainty has caused anxiety among students and authorities alike.
In response to the situation, the BSEK chairman issued a stern warning against students bringing mobile phones into examination halls, threatening device confiscation for any violations.
Examinations are underway, with science group papers scheduled for the morning shift and general group papers for the second shift, aiming for a smooth process.
This year, BSEK introduced online admit cards for easier access to examination information and designated centers.
Late submission of exam forms is allowed until May 10, albeit with a late fee of Rs 3,500. Any missed exams during this period will be rescheduled to ensure fairness for all students.
As investigations into the alleged leak continue, BSEK emphasizes its dedication to maintaining the integrity of the examination process and safeguarding students' academic pursuits against irregularities or malpractices.
