Federal Energy Minister Awais Ahmad Leghari addressed these concerns, stating that the government has no intention of ending the solar net metering policy in the forthcoming budget. Leghari highlighted that the solar net metering initiative was introduced by PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and remains a priority under the current administration led by PM Shahbaz Sharif.
"The Nawaz Sharif-led government introduced the solar net metering scheme in 2017," Leghari said. "We will continue to support and encourage net metering, as it is a policy close to the heart of PM Shahbaz Sharif."
