The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to launch an investigation against national team all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz after reports emerged that his test for a prohibited substance returned positive.

According to reports the test was conducted during the previous ICC T20 World Cup, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) has formally informed the PCB about the result.

Sources indicate that the PCB initiated an inquiry immediately after receiving details from the ICC. The report suggests that the test indicated the use of a recreational drug.

The PCB is expected to update the ICC regarding the progress of the investigation after which further action will be determined.

It is worth noting that Mohammad Nawaz is currently representing Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League.
