ISLAMABAD – Rain, wind, and thunderstorms are forecasted for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Pakistan during Eid-ul-Adha.
After a predominantly dry day on Eid-ul-Adha (Monday), intermittent rain is expected in the twin cities and other regions from June 18 to June 22.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air is prevalent over most parts of Pakistan, with a shallow westerly wave entering the northern areas on Monday.
Gilgit-Baltistan/Kashmir: Rain, wind, and thunderstorms are anticipated in Gilgit-Baltistan (including Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar) and Kashmir (Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) from June 18 to June 22, with occasional gaps. Heavy rainfall is also likely in some parts of Kashmir during this period.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Peshawar, Mardan, Kurram, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Waziristan from the night of June 18 to June 22, with occasional gaps.
Punjab/Islamabad: Rain, wind, and thundershowers with some heavy falls are forecasted for Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Mianwali from the evening of June 18 to June 22, with occasional gaps. Rain, wind, and thundershowers are also expected in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahimyar Khan, and Layyah from June 20 to June 22.
Balochistan: Rain and thunderstorms are anticipated in Quetta, Zhob, Kohlu, Musakhel, Loralai, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti, and Barkhan from June 20 to June 22.
Sindh: Very hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the province from June 17 to June 20. Gusty winds with isolated rain and thunderstorms are likely in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, and Larkana on June 21 and 22.
